Dyslexia Support

Farnham Tuition have a wide experience of supporting young people and adults with Dyslexia. We appreciate the need to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles. Whether teaching reading, writing, handwriting, spelling, vocabulary or phonics, learning becomes an enjoyable experience when using a variety of resources and a multi-sensory approach.
Signs of dyslexia usually become apparent when a child starts school and begins to focus more on learning how to read and write. A person with dyslexia may read and write very slowly, confuse the order of letters in words, put letters the wrong way round and might struggle with planning and organisation. However, people with dyslexia often have good skills in other areas. Farnham Tuition can advise and assess. Contact us for a discussion.

Abstract Memory
Its important to exercise the brain as well as the body. Simple matching exercises can provide the mental gymnasium to help maintain the fitness of the brain. As you get older exercise becomes increasingly important.
The hippocampus shrinks in late adulthood, leading to impaired memory and increased risk for dementia. Hippocampal and medial temporal lobe volumes are larger in higher-fit adults, and physical activity training increases hippocampal perfusion, but the extent to which aerobic exercise training can modify hippocampal volume in late adulthood remains unknown.
